Vietnam, the city of million, were raided by Japan and the French first in 1859. A long struggle for freedom led to the Independence of Vietnam from the colonization and rule from the government.  

Leaders such as Ho Chi Minh, Phan Chu and Phan Boi Chau were the ones who fought for the call for their independence under the struggle. The French lost their control after the declaration of the World War II after which the Japanese troops marched on Vietnam for power. Due to a massive drought faced by the people, Vietnam Famine of 1945, millions of lives were lost due to the struggle.

Brief Summary of the Famous Leaders who took part in the Freedom Movement

  1. Ho Chi Minh

Born in small village in Vietnam during May 18, 1890, he was educated in Vietnamese, Chinese’s well as in French. He was a crucial figure in the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam after Vietnam accepted its independence in 1945.

He led the movement onward from 1941 forming a Vietnamese organization guerrilla called the Viet Minh which was destined to fight for the Vietnamese Independence. Ho Chi Minh City is renamed after him and is one of the most popular and fast-paced cities in the whole nation. 

  1. Phan Chu Trinh

Born in 1872in the Tay Loc Quang Nam province, Phan Chu Trinh was a nationalist leader anda communist who played an essential role in the Vietnamese Struggle for Freedom. HE joined hands and wanted the French to end their colonization and also wished for the resurrection of the Vietnamese Society along with its cultural and development.

He was called as the symbol of resistance and skilled in military skills. He was highly educated in Literature and modern liberation ideas. He shared his plans with the Japanese Government to throw the French rule and ask for freedom.

  1. Phan Boi Chau

Phan Boi Chau,also known as Phan Sao Nam or Phan Thi Han, was born in 1867 in Nghe An province. He was an indispensable personality in the Vietnamese Resistance Movements which occurred for the liberation for Vietnamese Freedom Struggle. His schemes and well-timed precision to deal with the patriarchy earned him the name of the greatest patriots of Vietnam.

His family was poor and couldn’t educate him much, but his ideas made him one of the greatest leaders. He reorganized the resistance movement in Canton China under a different alias. The organization wanted to assassinate the French Leader but failed miserably.

These leader splayed an active role in the freedom of Vietnam from the rule of the French and their colonization. Ho Chi Minh was the efficient leader among them and ruled out to be the best. He is still remembered to this date and his memorial, Ho Chi Minh City is built in Vietnam to offer for his strong beliefs and individuality.

Any War without a strong leader is incomplete. A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.
